We accept credit cards on open and COD accounts. On COD, we require payment in advance, then notify the plant of the approval, or, for small customers at certain of our plants, they pay COD at the time of purchase, at the plant. All of our credit customers are allowed to pay by credit card. Partial payments are allowed also.

All credit card transactions are required to be in writing, on a specific form. We keep the form, but redact all but the last four digits of the credit card number once it's been run. That way we have a local record of the transaction, but without placing the customer's credit card information at risk.

On the subject of credit card fees, we don't charge them. AmEx, MasterCard and Visa all disallow the charging of fees by percentage, as Robin describes above, though a flat fee, usually no more than $5-10, is permitted with the credit card agreement. Also, getting the credit card payment cuts five to seven days off mail time, and the difference in time is worth the extra in fees to get it faster.

We accept credit cards on all Cash/COD accounts. If an open account wants to pay by credit card, we let them know that we charge a 3% fee to cover the credit card fees. Some pay, some done. Depending on how much the balance is, we will allow a partial payment by credit card

Thank you; hopefully additional opinions and experiences regarding software skill improvement in Excel, SAP, Oracle, and others, will arrive; I see a need for almost continual involvement in some kind of practice in these systems; I have had periods of time in between positions, or in temporary roles in credit, and each company has different software configurations. I will continue this discussion.

Respectfully, I disagree. Reading *alone* does very little, but guides can be very useful, if provide practical forms and procedures, and if the reader practices with them. Most people learn best by doing, rather than just reading about doing, or just being told how to do something.

One thing that I have found that does not work is reading. I have tried "Idiots Guides" as well as other types of guides and have yet to find one that is informative, engaging, useful... or even worth the price of the book.

One to two days is what we see as well.

The problem is that an Alert/RFI is sent out immediately to our peers, but it doesn't have the information available.
